I was running late, which is nothing new for me. (I will be late to my own funeral . . . no really I have standing instructions to be brought in late – hahah!) I assumed that “Brown Bag” meant bring your own lunch and because I was running late, I figured I would have to wait until after the meeting. Boy, was I wrong. Several people brought enough to share. I’m not sure this is a regular occurrence, but I was glad since I came in empty handed. Today’s meeting had a “Go Bananas” theme in recognition of National Banana Bread Day. Who said getting serious work done couldn’t be fun? And speaking of fun, Happy Birthday to Jack Skaggs of Raising Canes, Stacie Donaldson of Direct Mail Marketing, Inc, and Kary Landry of State Farm Insurance.
As I learn the ropes of being a Diplomat, I am starting to understand what a wonderful job the Bossier Chamber of Commerce does for local business.
While I won’t bore you with the details of the meeting, let me just say that it is apparent that member satisfaction is at the top of the list of priorities. If you are considering joining the Chamber of Commerce, I recommend doing it as fast as possible. Member benefits include business referrals, ribbon cuttings, press releases and so much more. For me, the networking connections alone are a huge value. Call the Chamber Office to have someone give you more details: 318-746-0252.Hey, don’t forget tomorrow, Feb 24 from 5 – 7 pm is the Bossier Chamber of Commerce After Hours TLA (The Last Appointment) at The Ten Pin Lounge at Holiday Lanes 3316 Old Minden Road in Bossier City .
